“With Cascade, we wanted to tie performance closer to the business, with new executive dashboards, giving them a view of essential information, how its performing from an IT perspective,” Rouda said. “That information was there before, but it was presented from an IT perspective. Now it’s presented in a way without the IT noise, that makes it clear to executives, so they can make intelligent decisions about where they need to invest from it.”

Craig Mundie, Microsoft chief research and strategy officer; Donald Horner, chairman of the Hawaii State Board of Education; and Richard Burns, Hawaii State librarian, announced the kickoff of the Microsoft IT Academy in a news conference today at the Hawaii State Library.
The strategy centers around three fundamental aspects: leveraging analytics to exploit vast amounts of data for business goals; utilizing optimized systems that are designed for specific tasks; and managing as much of the IT as possible with cloud-computing technologies.
